21 Questions
Friends...
It’s easy to love me now...
But would you love me if I was down and out?
Would you still have love for me?
I’ll ask you 21 questions and they are all about us....
If GYS ended today, would you still love me?
If i didn’t look so good, would you still hug me?
If i leave UM today and never come back,
Could i trust you to treasure the times we shared?
If i drove a Kancil instead of a NAZA, would you all still come running to me for a ride to the secretariat?
If i was hit and hurt, would you boil some mushroom soup for me?
If you bump into me in Midvalley, will you say Hi to me?
I’m asking you questions to find out how you feel inside for me....
If i ain’t rap cause i buy burgers from Ramlee Burger,
Would you be ashamed to tell your friends that i was your director?
And in future, if i need you, would you be there for me?
If smsed you, would you still reply me?
Now i’m gonna get some rest but hey,
let me finish my 21 questions...
Do you believe in me when i say, i’ll be there for you?
Would you forget me after GYS ’08 has ended?
Are you starting to get mad at me cause i’m asking you so many questions?
Do you trust me enough to let me trust you to still have GYS in 2009?
Are you all real GYS musketeers?
Cause if so, i wanna say,
‘i love you all’
To all my committee members,
Always remember friends, we all make mistakes,
To make up for mine, i’ll do whatever it takes, you know what it takes...
You know my style, i’d say anything to make you smile,
How deep is our berbond-bond session,
If that’s all it takes for me to say goodbye?
I hate to come to this end and i hope to walk away without any regrets...
I love you all like how i love my cheesecake,
So here and again, don’t miss me too much, but please hand up all your 21 answers during post mortem tonight...
Just kidding....
Thank you guys...

When the road you're trudging seems all up hill.
When funds are low and the debts are high.
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit.
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns.
As everyone of us sometimes learns.
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out:
Don't give up though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are.
It may be near when it seems so far:
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It's when things seem worst that you must not QUIT.

hi everyone,
am home and am trying to get some rest before i start work next monday.
so far, everyone seems to be working, but with not much of progress. we re still stuck in the whirlpool and it s been too long already. seriously, we ve only got 2 months before the project. enough of hoping that miracles will happen when we dont do anything to help make it work. i need not hear anymore new ideas because i want to see things in action. i need not hear complaints of why some things dont work. we need to be flexible. if plan A does not work, think of another way.
i need everyone to stay committed for the next coming two months, i need to see everyone strike a balance between ur life and ur commitment to GYS.
met with Johan Farid yesterday and he verbally agreed to have ASTRO as our Media partnership. have got to run a few errands to show him that we re serious about this and we have to come up with a 30 secs advertisement to be aired on ASTRO on the 3rd and 4th week of July.
i dont want to nag ppl to do their work anymore. i want to see results and not hear complains.
i m sorry if i have to be this blunt, but i need to tell everyone that, if this is the pace that we re working at, dont be surprise that we ll need to postpone this event, which is not something that i want. i need everyone to co-operate with me, update me with things, get to work without me chasing after u. my phone bill is running superbly high with almost everyone s phone numbers. i sent over a thousand smses last month. and i m trying to console myself saying that it is worth it, all for GYS. so prove to me that it is worth it.
no more pep-talking, we need to face reality and realize how deep the pothole is. it s now time that we gather and work with a lil more effort to reach our goal.
need to apologize to Conrad for canceling our trip to Maya twice, as Johan's meetings clashed on both sessions.
i need the video and i need to discuss the advertisement.
i want Hazzri to tell me if u ve send the sponsorship letter to MAS.
i want to know what are the ways the Sec team is using to get more participants and what is the outcome of the drafting of the contract which is to be sent out to them on the 20th June.
i need Mel to send out the letters as soon as possible and see that members from other bureau is helping as she & Haz are the only ones in the bureau.
i want to see that the whole team is working together.
i want to hear from each and everyone of u soon.
i want everyone to be present for meetings starting from July, when the sem begins.
and i want as many ppl attending meetings, at least 2 representatives from each team during meetings starting on the 23rd June.
has everyone done their DONE & DARN list?
am waiting to get replies from each bureau soon.
add me on msn, EVERYONE, chris_ning@hotmail.com
chris, signing out.

Hey peeps!
Sorry about the lack of communication lately, been away for a while and when I came back, had quite a bit of errands to run! Just for the info, I'll be away again from the 11th - 14th of June, but I'll try to reply the emails when and where I can get internet access! Alright! Now for some updates from SEA:
1) We finally are getting in registration forms! As of now, we have many many queries and 'I'm interested' emails from many people, and we're doing follow-ups. However, as of now, we only have received THREE registration forms. So do PRAY HARD that all the interested parties will register, and we'll definitely have plenty! A few pending ones are as follows:
a) Monash are apparently VERY interested. Hoping to get 5 from KL and 5 from Melbourne.
b) NUS will definitely be sending 5. That is, unless we expand the participant limit..we might get more from them!
c) Will most probably be having 6 from Thailand...fingers crossed!
d) Quite a few queries from Indonesia, Phillipines and Australia. Pray for the best OK?
As for Malaysia, I'm devastated to say that none of the Unis have really replied yet! We're going to do more chasing - will keep you all updated!
2) A little feedback from the previous year's participants: To Grace, the topic on Environmental Resposibilities VS National Development, someone has remarked that it should be AND, not VS because it can go hand in hand; and does not have to be mutually exclusive. Just thought you should know. To Fendy! A suggestion has been made - give out posters/put up posters near Sunway, Taylors, Monash, etc...these huge university colleges usually have a lot of transfer students (Australia and others) so it'll be easier for them to come for GYS! Just a suggestion..
That's all for now. People, we really need some publicity done for GYS pls!!!!!! SEA can only do so much, my team is currently flooding other peoples' inboxes and we're spamming the facebook accounts! Do remember, however, that participation is a combined effort from all - esp publicity! There's only so much publicity SEA and PUB can do. We could use all the help we can get alright? Thanks for everything, and happy working!
SPECIAL SHOUTOUT TO GRACE - THANKS FOR REPLYING AN EMAIL FOR ME WHEN I WASN'T AROUND......YOU ROCK!!!!!
Love,
Amy

Hi peeps,
The first working camp ended, and altho it didnt end with a BANG, most things were started and settled. This work camp signifies the beginning of sufferings that we ll have to endure for the next comin 2 months plus. time is running out and pressure is mounting up too.
anyways, i ve been offered my first job and have been asked to start mid-june. i know that it isnt a good time, but i really did not want to lose this opportunity. being the first to be offered the job among tens of people, i had to take up this one. but, i would not be giving up the GYS directorship, however, i would be spending lesser time with u guys. no worries, i m still sailing on the same ship, just that i ve got to venture in 2 dift ships at one time.
have got a contingency plan regarding this issue of me not able to be around the next workcamp, but have yet to discuss it with Fir and Mel. once a decision is made, i will call for a meeting with the HOBs' or prob just post it up here. :)
anyways, there are still lots to be done, and i hope i have successfully instilled some fire in u to help continue keeping the fire burning:) i meant, the GYS spirit! :)
most of u have done a good job during the workcamp and u know who u are. some need improvement, but am sure u will in time to come.
do bear in mind that each and everyone of us is the leader of tomoro. start being a leader today in order to be able to control your own life and try to make a difference in others'.
will blog more soon. it s 2.15am and i ve got a meeting with En. Apandi at 8.45am later. met with Prof Azizan and Mawar from the UNESCO club. they ve kindly offered their help in various fields and are proud that we re taking the initiative to commit ourselves to this symposium. regards from them to all.
Prof Northcott, one of our panelists is around in UM. and prof Azizan has extended an invitation to attend his book launch by our VC on the 3rd June- 2pm. venue has yet to be confirmed. She said she would love some of us to be there to support this event. i would be away at a camp till the 7th, hence, i would not be around. those who are, kindly submit ur name to me. well, please help support them. take the initiative to help others, and u might never know what u ll get in return! 5 participants prob! :)
okies..gotta go...am becoming like Choi...hahah!
night everyone.
have a gr8 day tomoro!
cheers,
chris

Wow! another day has passed. checked out from 11th college today as we re trying to save some money for the team! rm10 a night aint cheap!!for another 7 nights!!it s rm70! so i d rather drive home. anyways, everyone was exhausted today..the team spirit was dying off slowly as we were abit annoyed with the other team who were using the secretariat and also because few HOBs werent around and members were lost when i questioned them! i was abit out of focus today too as i had too many things on my mind. My life at the moment only revolves around GYS..should i be glad? ahaha! :)
Firstly, we havent got approval from KPT, so there are alot of things that we cant do legally yet..but am praying hard that the approval wouldnt take that long a time. But we ll work as usual as Choi reassured me that KPT would definitely approve the project! :)
lesser members reported in today and the secretariat team only 2 person present. everyone was so stressed out so we ve decided to go kayaking tomoro evening! if we cant kayak, we ll go cycling, and if we cant go cycling, then we re going jogging..and if it s raining, oops..didnt think about that! but let s hope it doesnt rain tomoro! :)
Fendy, Haz, Conrad, Mel n I went for dinner together today at Piccadilly. the gang was smaller today because we went for dinner late today, so the rest got hungry & left without us. Richard chose badminton over us..sigh..ahhaha! and Sheikh, Ai Tze, Hui Ling & Felicita wanted to have some time together on their own..Gerard & Ignatius wanted some time on their own too..sigh..Syaz was excited as Liza would be joining us tomoro and so she wanted to have dinner with her alone too. sigh..so much of being a team! ahaha! but it s ok..guess they grew tired of me! :)
Planning to go to Bukit Cahaya this saturday morning to check out the place! more members would be around..so woohoo! one whole big gang would be there!! :) yippee! let s hope it doesnt rain too! if not, we ll prob just pop in some shopping mall! :)
next tuesday night, will be gathering over at my place to have dinner and prob watch a movie..or erm....Badminton. am sure Richard would be excited! ahahah!
okies...gotta go to the airport now!
sigh..i m treating this as my own blog now! ahaha...but this is just to keep those who arent with us updated bout the working camp.

This is a little something i made for my sponsorship bureau to use in presenting what is gys to potential sponsors. Im sure a lot of people here dont know what exactly happen during the event. I think it can be use for inviting participants and more importantly show the committee member itself that even tho planning for this event seems impossible, the outcome will be very very sweet =) so for that please have a look and hope you all pumped up!! Lets all make GYS08 a success!!

Hey all!
Sorry about the lack of updates; have been busy studying and working the past few days. So, here's what SEA has been up to the last couple of days:
1) Drafted our formal invitation letter - just a few blanks here and there due to uncertainties. Will need a copy of the proposal to fill in those blanks! [Achievement! =) ]
2) Completed our informal invitation letter! Will be sending it out together with a promotional flyer to the universities' email adds we've found to enquire if they're interested. Then we'll follow up with the formal letter from there! (Informal letter is just to catch them before they go on summer break) :D [Achievement! =) ]
3) Organizational chart is almost done; but we've requested a postponement in putting it up because we're all studying hard! Will put it up AS SOON AS FINALS END - promise! =) [KIV! =/ ]
4) The request for files and stationery is being put on hold because of exams and transportation prob (sorry!) Will continue working on it throughout these 3 weeks, and all heads - will pass you your requests immediately after finals! (Definitely before work camp - Amy guarantees!) [KIV =/ ]
5) Have obtained the working camp attendance confirmation from my team members - will let Feli and Christine know! [Achievement! =) ]
Thats about it for now! Sorry about the late update - let me know if you see any problems! Feedback wanted! =) Btw, I want to know what happened to the GYS Secretariat sign as well...it went missing! =(

hi everyone,
went to the HEP today and found out that our proposal has been approved. MPMUM is giving us rm13,000. but they dont seem to know what happened to our previous yr's rm33 000. i ve photocopied the approval letter, so those who need it for official purposes can come get a copy from me. anyways, am sure everyone is busy preparing for exams, but do not forget the dateline to find out how many of ur members are coming for the working camp.
went to the secretariat today. seems that someone took down the notice to say that the room is also our secretariat. anyone knows who took it down? i would be pissed if i find out that the MPM were the ones who did it. they re lookin for trouble if they did it.
anyways, any updates from any bureaus so far? have only heard from the P&M, P&P bureaus. how s the secretariat team doing? T& L? proposal done?
hope to hear from some of u soon.
till then, take care.
chris..signing out :)
